Who do I think I am?

My name’s Jack. I’ve been making films my whole life, from a stretchy lizard eating a Lego man to things I’m more proud of. I cut my teeth running YouTube channels, which taught me how stories actually live online, then went on to build a career creating social-first and editorial-led video across fashion, culture and music.

I spent several years working with sustainable fashion brand Converted Closet, helping shape its visual identity through Instagram-native video and editorial content, before joining Cloud9Media, where I work as an editor, shooter and director on films for purpose-driven organisations. Along the way I’ve directed, shot, animated and edited everything from documentary-style pieces and campaigns to music videos and platform-native social content.

I’m a pretty resourceful fella and have been described as a beaver on more than one occasion. This is accurate. I like figuring things out, working end-to-end, and making things better than they started. Fundamentally though, it’s because I love the art. This is something you can exploit. I will not release a project without first pouring my heart and soul into it.

Somehow, I now have over ten years’ experience in filmmaking. I basically just want to make really beautiful stuff all the time. When I’m not making films, I make music with my band, and what I learn through that informs my films in all sorts of ways. Music videos, in particular, are a current obsession.
